Description

  • Process and manage high volumes of US background checks, including criminal records, in accordance with established procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Review issues raised by specialists, clients, vendors, or other stakeholders and take ownership of resolving them when possible.
  • Escalate unresolved screening or compliance matters to the Support Lead and/or US VP of Operations & Compliance.
  • Oversee the day-to-day workflow of the US screening team.
  • Develop training materials and help onboard and train new team members.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for US screening cases.
  • Communicate professionally with internal team members, candidates, and external vendors regarding screening statuses and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of screening activities.
  • Perform additional tasks as requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a US background check leadership setting.
  • Prior experience processing U.S. background checks, including national, county, and federal criminal record searches, motor vehicle reports (MVR), sanctions checks, social media reviews, and employment and education verifications.
  • Strong familiarity with U.S. employment laws and requirements, including FCRA, EEOC, and state requirements.
  • Experience with background check commercial platforms preferred.
  • Ability to work in U.S. business hours.
  • Proficient typing skills of approximately 60 WPM.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional report writing and internal documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely, and professionally.
  • Proactive, independent work ethic with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience and readiness to work independently, manage processes, and train others.
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. criminal background checks.
