Description

  • Monitor, harden, and improve AWS security controls, including IAM, WAF, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and network security groups.
  • Own vulnerability management from scanning and risk prioritization through remediation tracking and reporting.
  • Operate and tune EDR platforms to detect, contain, and remediate endpoint threats.
  • Design and implement Zero Trust controls, including identity-based access, micro-segmentation, and least privilege.
  • Apply encryption, key management, and certificate lifecycle best practices across systems and services.
  • Partner with engineering teams to embed security controls into cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assess internal projects and third-party vendors against security best practices.
  • Maintain SIEM correlation rules and alerting logic to improve detection coverage.
  • Investigate complex security issues, identify root causes, and recommend mitigations.
  • Stay current on emerging threats, tools, and security practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Hands-on experience securing AWS environments, including IAM, WAF, Security Hub, GuardDuty, and KMS.
  • Experience operating vulnerability management programs, including scanning, prioritization, and remediation workflows.
  • Working knowledge of EDR platforms and endpoint security operations.
  • Practical understanding of Zero Trust Architecture principles.
  • Strong knowledge of cryptography, encryption, key management, and PKI.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tools and security monitoring practices.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional influencing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and communicate clearly during high-impact security incidents.
  • Relevant certifications are preferred, such as AWS Security Specialty, CompTIA Security+, or CySA+.
