Description

  • Develop scientific copy for assigned brands, products, and deliverables.
  • Work independently and with medical writers and directors to create scientifically accurate content.
  • Interpret medical strategy and content objectives for assigned projects and accounts.
  • Review current literature and competitor products in assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Follow AMA and client style guidelines and ensure reference accuracy.
  • Research, annotate, and highlight references for medical review.
  • Manage project workflow, meet deadlines, and coordinate deliverables.
  • Communicate with clients and KOLs to present work for review and incorporate feedback.
  • Attend kickoff, status, and other project meetings.
  • Collaborate with creative and illustration teams to translate scientific data into visually compelling materials.
  • Provide medical guidance by staying current on scientific knowledge for assigned brands and products.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree such as MD, PhD, or PharmD is required.
  • Up to 1 year of medical writing experience in a medical communications agency is preferred, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with FDA, AMA, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Strong scientific foundation with the ability to quickly learn therapeutic areas and therapies.
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to varied audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver on time and on budget.
  • Ability to work in a team and contribute proactively to cross-functional discussions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and reference managers.
  • Adaptable, resilient, proactive, resourceful, and comfortable adjusting priorities as the role evolves.
