Description

Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software systems and applications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hardware engineers and system architects, to create integrated software solutions.
Analyze user needs and system requirements to guide software design and development.
Advise hardware designers on machine characteristics that affect software performance and behavior.
Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems software.
Troubleshoot, debug, and tune software for performance issues.
Support system integration, modernization, and enhancement initiatives.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and system specifications.
Ensure software solutions meet operational, security, and performance standards.
Analyze and resolve Action Requests and ABENDs.
Design and maintain VBA-based micro-applications in Microsoft Access and Excel to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

5–8 years of hands-on experience with Oracle, COGNOS, and JavaScript, with expert knowledge, or 5–8 years of hands-on experience with Broadcom Endevor, with expert knowledge.
5–8 years of experience with IDMS database, system performance and measurement, COBOL programming, JCL, Assembler programming, REXX scripting, MQ Series (MQSeries 6.0), z/OS, and IBM tools such as TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.
Experience with VBA and micro-application development in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical teams.
Experience with legacy system modernization and integration efforts is preferred.
Experience with DFAS, DoD, or civilian payroll systems such as DCPS or equivalent government financial systems is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Active Secret clearance is required.
