Description

  • Own full-stack features from discovery and scoping through technical specification, implementation, and refinement.
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and program staff in small project groups to launch pilots and user-facing experiences.
  • Provide product recommendations and evaluate technical tradeoffs with support from senior engineers.
  • Write clean, maintainable code across the technology stack.
  • Review teammates’ code and contribute to engineering quality.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Improve platform operations and internal tooling.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Experience releasing full-stack features for consumer-facing products.
  • Experience working in a small, fast-moving startup environment.
  • Working knowledge of a typed language and relational database, such as TypeScript and Postgres or comparable technologies.
  • Familiarity with a major cloud provider such as AWS or GCP.
  • Ability to translate user pain points into written specifications.
  • Experience partnering with non-technical users and senior engineers.
  • Motivation to do work with a positive social impact.
  • Based in the United States and available during US working hours.
  • Preferred: experience with consumer platforms involving live sessions, two-sided marketplaces, or safety tooling.
