Description

Design and implement robust Azure RBAC policies and manage users, groups, and service principals with least-privilege access.
Build monitoring dashboards and implement centralized logging, telemetry, and alerting with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and related tools.
Architect and optimize scalable Azure infrastructure to support growing workloads and improve reliability and responsiveness.
Analyze cloud resource usage, identify waste, and recommend cost-saving measures to improve cost governance.
Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerization workflows, and deployment automation.
Establish infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent tooling.
Enforce security best practices across all environments and cloud resources.
Establish and promote Azure infrastructure and DevOps best practices across the engineering team.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship on cloud architecture, security, and operational excellence.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including infrastructure setup, management, and optimization.
Proficiency in setting up and managing RBAC, users, groups, and service principals within Azure.
Strong knowledge of Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and related monitoring and observability tools.
Experience designing and building custom dashboards for resource monitoring and performance tracking.
Expertise in logging and telemetry frameworks, and in setting up proactive alerting.
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps.
Proven ability to design scalable cloud architectures and optimize for both performance and cost.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort mentoring engineers and advising leadership.
Comfortable working remotely and aligning to UK business hours (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM GMT/BST).
Azure certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert are desirable.
Knowledge of scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Terraform is desirable.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates is desirable.
Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and serverless architectures is desirable.
Experience in cost analysis and budget management for cloud resources at scale is desirable.
Familiarity with security compliance frameworks relevant to cloud infrastructure is desirable.
Formal qualifications are not required; skills and experience are valued over education.
