Description

  • Design and build the data platform, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
  • Integrate heterogeneous data sources with varying formats, quality levels, and update frequencies.
  • Own the data quality framework, including validation, lineage tracking, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development and infrastructure management.
  • Document architecture decisions using lightweight architecture decision records (ADRs).
  • Document data source mappings and transformation logic alongside the codebase.
  • Generate insights and visualizations for non-technical users of data.
  • Develop software needed to support the data platform and related systems.
  • Operate as the sole technical builder in the initial phase, as needed.

Requirements

  • Immediate start date.
  • Remote, US-based role.
  • Full-time position.
  • Compensation of $155k-$175k based on experience.
  • Senior+ software engineer with strong architectural judgment.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating messy, real-world data from multiple sources.
  • Ability to quickly understand industry-specific data nuances.
  • Familiarity with data quality tooling such as Great Expectations, dbt tests, Soda, or equivalent.
  • Strong experience using AI coding agents to deliver and extend production-quality projects.
  • Comfort operating independently as the sole technical builder in the early phase.
  • Strong cultural fit with ownership, humility, initiative, and collaboration.
  • Self-starting mindset with the ability to move work forward without constant direction.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Helpful but not required: experience in property management or adjacent industries, or a demonstrated willingness to learn the space quickly.
