Description

  • Deliver individualized virtual instruction tailored to each student’s goals, accommodations, and learning profile.
  • Create structured lesson plans aligned with student goals, grade-level standards, and required accommodations or modifications.
  • Adapt instruction in real time based on student questions, progress, and engagement.
  • Track student progress and communicate with families about student learning.
  • Communicate with school district partners when applicable.
  • Provide engaging online instruction in 1:1 and small-group settings.
  • Work with students across different subjects and student populations based on fit and expertise.
  • Support students with special education needs through personalized academic tutoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with students who have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, or other special education needs.
  • Background in roles such as credentialed SPED teacher, paraprofessional, interventionist, or tutor.
  • Familiarity with IEPs, 504 plans, and common accommodations such as extended time, chunked instruction, and multi-sensory approaches.
  • Ability to design and deliver lesson plans aligned to student goals and accommodations.
  • Strong virtual instruction skills, including comfort with video conferencing and digital whiteboards.
  • Ability to keep students engaged in an online learning environment.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Reliable computer, internet, webcam, and quiet workspace.
  • Active or previous teaching credential, especially in Special Education, preferred.
  • Experience with Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading, or structured literacy preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus.
