Description

  • Write, review, and provide editorial direction and feedback to Medical Writers, Editors, and Graphic Artists to ensure content meets client objectives and agency standards.
  • Analyze and interpret complex medical documents and review analyses prepared by junior team members.
  • Lead or support scientific discussions directly with authors, faculty, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and clients.
  • Manage and mentor Medical Writers within the team, including providing scientific and strategic background.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor products, drugs in development, and treatment landscape through literature searches and conference attendance.
  • Manage timelines, expectations, and the content development process for client projects.
  • Oversee and manage the regulatory review process for projects and ensure consistency and cross-team learnings in regulatory review.
  • Attend and help design advisory board meetings and participate in new business development presentations and pitches.
  • Identify and help develop new client and business opportunities for Strategic Account Directors.
  • Assist the VP of Content Development in defining content-development processes, tracking team assignments, sharing resources, and providing routine training and development for writers and editors.

Requirements

  • Advanced life sciences degree required (MD, PhD, or PharmD).
  • At least 2–3 years of experience within a medical communications agency.
  • Extensive medical writing experience and experience analyzing and interpreting complex medical literature.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor writers and collaborate within cross-functional teams.
  • Superior time-management skills and ability to work effectively within demanding timelines and independently when required.
  • Experience interacting professionally with clients, thought leaders, authors, and faculty across therapeutic areas.
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and reference-management software (EndNote).
  • Experience conducting literature searches and staying current on therapeutic-area developments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel (moderate to extensive) as required by team assignment.
