Description

  • Manage the full legal lifecycle of delinquent accounts to support collections outcomes.
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding of new collection vendors, including background checks and contract execution.
  • Update existing vendor agreements to reflect operational, compliance, or commercial changes.
  • Manage collections-specific obligations in partner contracts and related amendments.
  • Secure required approvals to authorize vendors for partner portfolios.
  • Conduct internal audits of collection SOPs to ensure alignment with business metrics.
  • Support internal and external collection audits.
  • Contribute to the ongoing optimization of the collections platform.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of legal collections experience in Indian banks or NBFCs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in law.
  • Strong understanding of legal frameworks governing debt collection in India.
  • Knowledge of vendor management compliance and contractual obligations.
  • Good understanding of RBI Fair Practices Code (FPC), outsourcing guidelines, and recovery agent codes of conduct.
  • Familiarity with RBI Digital Lending Guidelines, especially customer data protection and collections transparency.
  • Thorough knowledge of recovery frameworks including Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, and the Payment and Settlement Systems Act for e-NACH/ECS failures.
  • Understanding of data privacy practices for secure vendor onboarding and platform integrations.
  • Good analytics and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, Pivots, PowerPoint, and Google Slides is preferable.
