Description

  • Own QA strategy in partnership with the VP of Engineering.
  • Define quality standards, including entry/exit criteria, coverage, and release readiness.
  • Standardize QA reporting across delivery teams.
  • Prioritize test coverage based on risk and business-critical behavior.
  • Build, own, and maintain automated regression coverage for web applications and services.
  • Select and manage automation tooling and conventions to keep test suites maintainable.
  • Run automated suites continuously against every change and ensure results remain trustworthy.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop QA engineers on the team.
  • Own quality outcomes across the function, including escaped defects, coverage, and release confidence.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Product from requirements through release as part of delivery teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in QA/test engineering.
  • 5+ years owning test automation, beyond executing manual test plans.
  • Experience owning quality outcomes for a team or function.
  • Experience managing or mentoring other QA engineers.
  • Track record of setting testing strategy and standards and getting them adopted across an organization.
  • Experience building and maintaining an automated regression suite from the ground up.
  • Deep hands-on fluency with at least one automation platform such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Ghost Inspector, Testim, Katalon, or mabl.
  • Comfort with code, including reading, scripting, and debugging tests without needing prior software engineering experience.
  • Based in Canada and eligible to work there.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, or another regulated/high-consequence domain (preferred).
  • Formal line-management experience, including performance and growth conversations (preferred).
  • Experience building a QA function or practice where little existed before (preferred).
  • Experience with performance/load testing, cross-browser platforms, or AI-assisted test tooling (preferred).
