Description

  • Own the technical execution of team systems and ensure they evolve in a predictable, well-structured way.
  • Set technical direction by scoping initiatives, assessing risk, and breaking down unknowns into actionable plans.
  • Provide oversight, mentorship, and design guidance to engineers across the team.
  • Review code and estimates, and help engineers work through complex technical challenges.
  • Identify systemic risks and cross-goal dependencies early to prevent blockers.
  • Design, build, and maintain features across Angular, Node.js/Express, and PostgreSQL.
  • Improve DevOps and CI/CD infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
  • Run rapid prototyping efforts to validate new ideas quickly using the best-fit technologies and AI tools.
  • Work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to translate goals into technical plans.
  • Stay hands-on with coding while helping shape team practices and execution.

Requirements

  • Must be living in Canada and legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Experience operating at a Lead or strong Senior level, with ownership of system-level technical execution.
  • Strong experience with Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
  • Solid experience with PostgreSQL or a similar relational database.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience structuring initiatives by breaking down unknowns, scoping work, and building realistic timelines.
  • Experience providing technical oversight through design reviews, estimate validation, or coaching other engineers.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies quickly, including AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Copilot.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Preferred: experience on growth or acquisition-focused product teams.
  • Preferred: experience in fintech, mortgage, or regulated financial services.
  • Preferred: familiarity with monorepo tooling and modern build systems.
  • Preferred: experience with Python and Flask.
