Description

  • Lead clinical study budget negotiations with study sites for multiple clinical studies.
  • Develop, review, and negotiate clinical trial site budgets and budget amendments.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Clinical Research and Legal for clinical and investigator-sponsored study contracts.
  • Submit contract requests and coordinate with stakeholders through final agreement execution.
  • Provide regular updates to management on site start-up progress and strategic implications.
  • Identify budget and contract negotiation risks, communicate delays, and recommend solutions to keep projects on schedule.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clinical project managers and study teams and provide timely status updates.
  • Train and support junior team members on complex budget topics.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives such as new templates and workflows.
  • Enter budget and contract dates and comments in the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) accurately and on time.
  • Partner with Legal to manage timelines and expectations for new and changing clinical studies.
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s Quality Management System, security, privacy, and applicable regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, finance, legal, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of clinical budget or similar relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clinical research experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or comparable regulated environment is desirable.
  • Experience creating and negotiating budgets.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial agreements and contracts.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Annual base salary range of $125,000 to $160,000 in a high-cost labor market.
