Description

  • Maintain generators by diagnosing and repairing problems, replacing components or entire systems, and performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out-of-season equipment.
  • Conduct performance checks and routine maintenance to ensure generators are ready for service.
  • Read and follow blueprints or other design specifications to install or repair equipment.
  • Install fuel and water supply lines, pumps, electrical wiring and controls, and test systems for proper operation.
  • Respond promptly to power and generator alarms and answer assigned phone and email communications in a timely manner.
  • Be available for 24/7 on-call duty when required and travel long distances as needed.
  • Perform work safely around power supply equipment, switching gear, and other hazards while using required safety equipment and practices.
  • Attend designated safety and training meetings.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and alarms visually and audibly to identify issues.
  • Work extended hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and emergency callouts as required.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of intense work-related experience with generator and electrical maintenance-related software, hardware, and processes.
  • 2+ years of generator maintenance experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of generator installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components.
  • Moderate computer skills.
  • Basic knowledge of FCC, FAA, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and standing for long periods.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA standards and pass a DOT physical.
  • Willingness to drive long distances and be away from home for extended periods.
  • Independent, self-starter mindset with willingness to travel.
