Description

  • Own backend solutions from design to production, including testing, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Tackle ambiguous problems and turn them into clear, actionable technical solutions aligned with stakeholders.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive architectural improvements to scale the platform and evolve infrastructure.
  • Support new product capabilities through backend and platform development.
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed, cross-functional team across feature squads.
  • Contribute to best practices across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Take ownership of code through release, maintenance, and bug fixes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of practical backend development experience with Python.
  • Experience architecting, building, and deploying scalable, performant, highly available web services in production on AWS or similar platforms.
  • Ability to write maintainable, extensible, well-tested, and easy-to-understand code.
  • Strong ability to automate busywork and diagnose root causes of problems.
  • Pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with understanding of tradeoffs between short-term goals and long-term technical debt.
  • Solid computer science fundamentals and knowledge of design patterns.
  • Experience with Python web server frameworks such as FastAPI is preferred.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is preferred.
  • Experience with PCI DSS compliance, data labeling and curation workflows, dataset generation for model training, or end-to-end ML training pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience supporting internal and external security and regulatory audits is preferred.
  • Experience deploying infrastructure across different environments is preferred.
  • Experience building efficient database schemas and/or optimizing queries is preferred.
  • Experience working asynchronously across time zones is preferred.
