Description

  • Establish and communicate accruals for the monthly close process related to Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) claims, risk adjustment, and shared savings deals.
  • Use SQL and Python to expand existing frameworks and drive new insights and resources for other actuarial teams.
  • Review and contribute to the preparation and submission of regulatory filings.
  • Investigate core drivers of observed performance trends and provide actionable analysis for financial planning and decision-making.
  • Promote and shape actuarial best practices focused on automation and documentation.
  • Maintain relationships and clear lines of communication with cross-functional partners.
  • Aid in onboarding analysts by collaborating with and integrating them into existing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • College degree or commensurate skills/experience.
  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or actively on the track to obtain these credentials.
  • 3+ years of experience in a related actuarial or analytics field.
  • Experience using SQL and Python for data analysis, modeling, or automation.
  • Knowledge of core health insurance concepts and experience with actuarial applications (preferred).
  • Technical enthusiasm and willingness to apply tech-forward methods in actuarial models.
  • Must reside in Dallas, TX (remote role based in that metro area).
