Description

  • Partner with regional market teams, regional actuaries, and market medical officers to co-lead trend management and reduce total cost of care.
  • Identify, size, and perform root-cause analysis of medical cost and utilization anomalies and affordability opportunities.
  • Deliver executive-ready analytics, reports, and presentation materials for market leadership.
  • Mentor analysts and help develop both analytical expertise and business communication skills.
  • Serve as the primary intake and triage point for market medical economics requests, routing complex work to centralized analytic teams as needed.
  • Coordinate end-to-end follow-up with market leadership on medical economics priorities and requests.
  • Integrate local market programs and emerging cost drivers into Oscar's centralized affordability framework and governance programs.
  • Collaborate with central affordability and local market teams to develop localized trend management strategies and playbooks.
  • Build analytics, dashboards, and tooling that are standardized, repeatable, and scalable across markets.
  • Provide support and training to market leadership to improve self-service use of reports and tools, and share best practices across markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or 4 years of commensurate experience.
  • 10+ years of quantitative analysis experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in medical economics, corporate strategy, or a related analytics-driven leadership role.
  • Experience with health insurance or payer analytics and medical claims data, including CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, and DRGs.
  • Familiarity with standard healthcare industry data sources.
  • Business writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex actuarial concepts for executive audiences (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ACA-specific healthcare dynamics and their impact on external financial reporting (preferred).
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) or progress toward SOA fellowship (preferred).
  • Experience working in a remote environment is implied by the role's fully remote structure.
  • Location requirement: candidates must reside in Atlanta, GA.
