Description

  • Partner with regional market teams, actuaries, and medical officers to co-lead trend management and reduce total cost of care.
  • Identify, size, and diagnose medical cost and utilization anomalies and affordability opportunities within assigned regions.
  • Present executive-ready analytics, reports, and materials to market leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor analysts and support their development in analytical rigor, business writing, data visualization, and partner influence.
  • Serve as the primary intake and triage point for market medical economics requests, routing complex work to centralized analytics teams when appropriate.
  • Maintain ownership of market context, goals, results, and follow-up with market leadership.
  • Connect local market programs and emerging cost issues to Oscar’s centralized affordability framework and governance programs.
  • Collaborate with central and local teams to develop localized trend management playbooks and strategies.
  • Build and standardize analytics, reports, dashboards, and tooling that can scale across markets and support self-service.
  • Promote operational efficiency by sharing successful tactics, playbooks, and analytic tools across regional markets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or 4 years of commensurate experience.
  • 10+ years of quantitative analysis experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience in medical economics, corporate strategy, or a related analytics-driven leadership role.
  • Experience with health insurance or payer analytics.
  • Understanding of medical claims data, including CPT/HCPCS, ICD-10, and DRGs.
  • Familiarity with standard healthcare industry data sources.
  • Business writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex actuarial concepts for executive audiences (preferred).
  • Familiarity with ACA-specific healthcare dynamics and their impact on external financial reporting (preferred).
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or progress toward SOA fellowship (preferred).
