Description

  • Reproduce published baselines and methods, documenting divergences from reported results.
  • Build and maintain evaluation datasets and harnesses, including known failure-mode cases.
  • Run experiments with senior research engineers and maintain reproducible experiment records.
  • Perform error analysis to identify and report system failures and their causes.
  • Implement well-scoped prototype components with senior engineering guidance and code review.
  • Summarize relevant literature and open-source work for research questions.
  • Document and present results, including negative findings, in team research reviews.
  • Travel up to 10% for conferences, training, and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated ability.
  • Solid Python programming fundamentals and ability to explain and defend code.
  • Working understanding of machine learning and LLM fundamentals, including evaluation, prompting, embeddings, and retrieval.
  • Ability to critically read technical papers and assess their claims, evaluation methods, and limitations.
  • Commitment to accurately reporting results, including findings that contradict hypotheses.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Research experience through a thesis, lab, internship, or open-source project (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with retrieval-augmented generation, agent frameworks, or fine-tuning (preferred).
  • Exposure to graph databases, ontologies, information extraction, experiment tracking, Docker, or cloud/GPU compute (preferred).
