Description

  • Analyze current and novel fuel performance across expected operating and off-normal conditions.
  • Develop analysis methodologies and, when needed, modeling and simulation software tools.
  • Perform verification and validation of modeling and simulation tools used for engineering analyses.
  • Support experimental fuel campaigns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with reactor design, fuel fabrication, and licensing teams.
  • Provide technical feedback to design teams.
  • Document analyses clearly and write thorough technical reports using modern tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience with multi-physics system performance analyses.
  • Experience with finite element simulation software such as Ansys or Abaqus.
  • Experience with material analysis.
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Python or C++.
  • Experience with nuclear fuel performance analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with metallic fuels is preferred.
  • Experience with fuel analysis and fuel performance software such as BISON or LIFE-METAL is preferred.
  • Experience in material selection is preferred.
  • Fluency in Python is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to Santa Clara, CA headquarters twice per quarter for remote employees.
  • Ability to be onsite at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA for the first two weeks of onboarding.
  • Employment may be contingent on successful completion of a drug screening.
