Description

  • Analyze current and novel fuel designs across expected operating conditions and postulated off-normal conditions.
  • Develop analysis methodologies that efficiently build confidence in fuel designs, including modeling and simulation tool development.
  • Verify and validate modeling and simulation tools used in engineering analyses.
  • Support experimental fuel campaigns.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with reactor design, fuel fabrication, and licensing teams to provide technical feedback.
  • Document analyses clearly and produce thorough technical reports using modern tools and techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering plus 3 years of experience.
  • Experience with multi-physics system performance analyses.
  • Experience with finite element simulation software such as Ansys or Abaqus.
  • Experience with material analysis.
  • Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Python or C++.
  • Experience with nuclear fuel performance analysis is preferred.
  • Familiarity with metallic fuels is preferred.
  • Experience with fuel analysis and fuel performance software such as BISON or LIFE-METAL is preferred.
  • Experience in material selection is preferred.
  • Fluency in Python is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to headquarters in Santa Clara, CA twice per quarter for remote employees.
  • Ability to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA for the first two weeks of onboarding.
  • Employment may be contingent on successful completion of a drug screening.
