Description

  • Architect performant data models that establish single sources of truth across business domains.
  • Build and maintain data infrastructure using SQL, Python, dbt, and Snowflake.
  • Develop data quality checks, automated tests, governance practices, permissions, lineage, and data definitions.
  • Design secure data models with appropriate access controls.
  • Build semantic models for natural-language querying through Cortex Analyst and other Snowflake AI tools.
  • Define and validate metrics, dimensions, and relationships required for AI agents to reason accurately.
  • Identify and resolve data structure, naming, and coverage gaps that could cause unreliable agent responses.
  • Create reusable playbooks, data model templates, semantic model libraries, YAML configurations, and Markdown skill files.
  • Run technical workshops and upskill team members and clients.
  • Track adoption after launch, gather feedback, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and provide actionable guidance to leaders and delivery teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role, including customer-facing or cross-functional work.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and incremental pipeline patterns.
  • Experience building large-scale relational data infrastructure and production data models or pipelines used by nontechnical business users.
  • Experience building and maintaining dbt projects with testing, documentation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in modern, type-hinted Python for data pipelines and automation.
  • Daily use of an AI coding assistant such as CoCo, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
  • Experience creating semantic view configurations or structured skill files that encode domain knowledge and edge cases.
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex Analyst, Cortex Agents, Cortex Search, semantic views, and Dynamic Tables.
  • Comfort with Git, including pull requests, branches, and code reviews.
  • Ability to communicate with business leaders, translate requirements into technical specifications, and work effectively amid ambiguity.
  • Experience with Airflow or another orchestration framework is preferred.
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, or HRIS is preferred.
