Description

  • Apply Mumsnet’s Talk guidelines in response to user reports.
  • Handle and respond to individual user reports with care, clarity and consistency.
  • Maintain an active presence on the Talk boards and engage directly with users.
  • Make thoughtful judgement calls in sensitive or fast-moving situations.
  • Explain moderation decisions clearly and fairly to users.
  • Act as a calm, decisive presence during discussions and incidents.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent written communication skills and an excellent command of English.
  • An unflappable, positive and conscientious approach.
  • Strong customer service instincts and empathy for users.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Confidence using social platforms and an understanding of online communities, especially Mumsnet.
  • Familiarity with Mumsnet’s forums and ethos is a strong plus.
  • Previous community management or moderation experience (nice to have).
  • A very good sense of humour and the ability to make nuanced calls when things get complicated.
  • Availability for mainly weekends and evenings and ability to work freelance from home.
