Description

  • Own key parts of the frontend video stack, including the web player, broadcaster tools, and viewer experiences for live and VOD playback.
  • Build and improve the UI for the web video player and related frontend components.
  • Optimize startup time, latency, and playback quality across browsers and devices.
  • Drive technical decisions and help shape frontend architecture for the video experience.
  • Work closely with backend and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve streaming issues.
  • Debug and optimize complex systems in production to maintain reliable playback at scale.
  • Deliver high-performance, user-facing features with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with the team on complex streaming challenges to create a seamless real-time video experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience building modern web applications.
  • Strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks, with React preferred.
  • Professional experience with video streaming technologies such as HLS, DASH, WebRTC, ABR, CDNs, or video players.
  • Experience building and optimizing performance-sensitive user interfaces.
  • Experience collaborating closely with backend and infrastructure teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in complex, high-scale environments.
  • Experience working on live streaming or real-time video products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with browser media APIs such as MSE/EME is preferred.
  • Experience operating in high-scale, high-availability systems is preferred.
