Description

  • Design, build, and refine frontend experiences for AMO and DevHub to ensure they are fast, accessible, and user‑friendly.
  • Develop and maintain full‑stack features across React/TypeScript frontends and Django backends, including submission flows and DevHub modernization.
  • Drive architecture and maintainability improvements to modernize the platform.
  • Ensure platform reliability through deployments, monitoring, and incident response on cloud infrastructure.
  • Identify and resolve issues impacting users and developers, from small bugs to larger incidents.
  • Collaborate with designers, product managers, QA, and community contributors to deliver end‑to‑end improvements.
  • Contribute in the open via pull requests, code reviews, and public discussions with staff and community contributors.
  • Support trust and safety initiatives and implement web security and user‑trust improvements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience building modern web applications.
  • Proficiency with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, with strong debugging and testing skills.
  • Familiarity with Python/Django or similar backend frameworks.
  • Understanding of web security principles and practices.
  • Awareness of accessibility, responsive design, and API integration.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for distributed teams.
  • Comfortable working in an environment with contributions from staff and the open‑source community.
  • Bonus: experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
  • Bonus: exposure to cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud or similar), contributions to open source projects, familiarity with other front‑end stacks (e.g., Jinja2), or experience mentoring junior developers.
