Description

  • Design, code, and maintain WordPress websites from concept through completion.
  • Build and deploy new front-end features for WordPress sites.
  • Integrate third-party plugins and external APIs to extend website functionality.
  • Develop and maintain multi-language, dynamic content websites with translation workflows and language-switching features.
  • Create custom page templates and layouts to improve page structure and organisation.
  • Develop and validate test routines across browsers, devices, and external interfaces.
  • Identify and resolve website issues arising from testing and user feedback.
  • Manage website security, including firewall configuration, Cloudflare setup, and monitoring tools.
  • Improve navigation structure, accessibility, and user experience across websites.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, design teams, and content contributors to translate requirements, wireframes, and moodboards into functional web pages.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in web programming, including independently creating new websites.
  • Extensive experience with WordPress development and custom theme creation.
  • Proficiency in Elementor page builder, including custom templates and advanced widget configuration.
  • Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services into WordPress websites.
  • Knowledge of PHP and database management for WordPress customisation.
  • Strong knowledge of modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with responsive design techniques and mobile-first development.
  • Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and SEO best practices.
  • Knowledge of website security best practices, including firewall management, Cloudflare configuration, and monitoring tools.
  • Experience managing domain registration, DNS configuration, hosting setup, SSL certificates, and email provisioning independently.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks within timelines and budgets.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Interest in working to counter online harms.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and willingness to pass relevant security clearance checks.
  • Experience with Elementor Pro features such as custom CSS, motion effects, and theme builder (desirable).
  • Experience with filtering and search systems, specifically JetEngine (desirable).
  • Experience setting up Google Workspace email accounts and domain configurations (desirable).
