Description

  • Lead the multi-currency consolidation of five operating companies across the UK, Ireland, Canada, and the United States.
  • Prepare and analyse project profitability, variance analysis, and management reports.
  • Liaise monthly with project teams to ensure adherence to grant/contract rules, billing practices, and margin reporting.
  • Support the Financial Director in preparing monthly and quarterly KPI and financial reports for clients, investors, and the Board.
  • Facilitate the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Provide line management for one direct report.
  • Work with external payroll agents to process and review payroll for UK, US, Canada, and Ireland entities.
  • Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions and reconcile supplier accounts monthly.
  • Coordinate and participate in regular meetings with clients and the leadership team.
  • Ensure compliance across all entities, including statutory and sales tax returns, and investigate any financial inconsistencies.

Requirements

  • CPA qualification (or ACCA equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, project accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Expertise in risk analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets) or MS Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, highly organised, and able to complete tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and tenacious in identifying and investigating inconsistencies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and ability to pass relevant security clearance checks as required by clients.
  • Desirable: availability for immediate or short notice start; experience preparing for and facilitating audits; grant reporting experience; Xero bookkeeping experience.
