Description

  • Own end-to-end data engineering projects from ingestion and modelling through orchestration, monitoring, and analytics enablement.
  • Design, build, maintain, and optimise scalable data pipelines using Dagster, Python, and Snowflake.
  • Write clean, efficient, well-documented code that supports quality, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Maintain high data quality standards through unit testing, integration testing, and data monitoring.
  • Design and develop complex data models aligned with industry best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold engineering standards.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of the data architecture.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate on engineering best practices across the data stack.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role with a track record of autonomous work and impact.
  • Strong expertise in Python and SQL, with Snowflake preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Deep understanding of engineering best practices such as unit testing and writing DRY code.
  • Experience with a modern data orchestrator such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
  • Knowledge of data modelling concepts and methodologies such as Kimball dimensional modelling or data vault.
  • Proficiency with dbt.
  • Comfortable working with Git and version control workflows.
  • Experience with Snowflake, AWS’s data ecosystem, or infrastructure-as-code such as Terraform is desirable.
  • Experience implementing low-latency analytics at scale is desirable.
  • Experience delivering end-to-end data products, including data visualisation and BI, is desirable.
  • Familiarity with the listed stack including Python, Docker, Dagster, dbt, Fivetran, Apache Iceberg, Snowflake, S3, and ECS is preferred but not mandatory.
