Description

  • Strategically identify target cities and regions for meetups, dinners, and informal community events based on product usage and growth potential.
  • Lead end-to-end event logistics, including venue selection, negotiation, catering, AV, signage, swag, guest lists, travel coordination, and shipping.
  • Coordinate with traveling Metabase team members to organize casual meetups and customer visits across international locations.
  • Build standardized playbooks, checklists, and templates to make event planning repeatable and scalable globally.
  • Manage event budgets, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Success Engineering to align event branding, messaging, and lead handoff processes.
  • Collect event feedback, metrics, and learnings to continuously improve event quality, efficiency, and impact.
  • Turn event ideas into fully executed experiences that help customers and team members build relationships and community.

Requirements

  • Proven experience organizing events, either virtual or in person, or in field/community marketing for tech companies.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across time zones.
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills and familiarity with contracts.
  • Comfort with international logistics, including shipping swag, working with foreign vendors, and handling cross-border payments.
  • Self-starter who can work autonomously in a remote, asynchronous environment.
  • Ability to travel internationally when needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in SaaS, data analytics tools, or open-source communities is a plus.
  • Fluency in multiple languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German is a plus.
