Description

  • Create practical tutorials, demos, videos, blog posts, talks, and other developer-focused content grounded in real use cases.
  • Act as an editor and curator for internal engineers, guest contributors, marketing colleagues, and other advocates.
  • Validate technical claims, test code snippets, and edit drafts to maintain high editorial and technical standards.
  • Build and maintain demo projects, sample workflows, and integrations that showcase Metabase in real-world scenarios.
  • Develop and execute plans to grow and nurture Metabase’s developer community through events, meetups, livestreams, courses, social media, and partnerships.
  • Engage directly in developer spaces such as Slack communities, forums, Reddit, Discord, YouTube, Twitch, and social platforms.
  • Build relationships with developers, community leaders, contributors, and power users.
  • Represent Metabase at conferences and meetups as a credible practitioner.
  • Collect community feedback including friction points, workarounds, complaints, praise, and feature requests.
  • Synthesize community insights and share them with engineering, product, and marketing teams in an actionable way.
  • Track community health and content performance metrics and adjust initiatives based on results.

Requirements

  • Comfort with SQL, databases, metrics, and analytics workflows.
  • Experience building community through platforms such as Twitter/X, YouTube, Twitch, Discord, blogs, meetups, public speaking, or live events.
  • Clear, direct, and human communication style.
  • Ability to work independently without needing a brief, brand guide, or editorial approval to create quality content.
  • Strong judgment about when to speak, when to listen, and when to stay out of a conversation.
  • Empathetic, inclusive, and warm approach to helping people.
  • Experience contributing to or building on open source projects is a plus.
  • Experience with embedded analytics, BI tooling, or the modern data stack is a plus.
