Description

  • Develop and coordinate system safety activities across multiple Merlin products.
  • Apply safety analysis techniques aligned with SAE ARP4761 and MIL-STD-882 to engineering products.
  • Analyze safety-critical systems, hardware, and software to support development safety and compliance demonstrations.
  • Flow safety requirements to development teams and peers and ensure they are captured and implemented in designs.
  • Prepare and deliver analyses, assessments, and reports.
  • Participate in safety review meetings, system design meetings, and change board meetings.
  • Provide technical inputs to engineers in a collaborative team environment.
  • Support safety and compliance work for high-criticality aerospace systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent systems safety experience.
  • 8+ years of experience using system safety techniques for safety-critical systems, such as avionics or autoflight systems.
  • Experience with safety assessments and analyses for Part 23 or Part 25 STCs or TCs involving high-criticality aerospace systems.
  • Experience with software and airborne electronic hardware, including CEH devices.
  • Experience with powered flight controls, flight management systems, or display systems.
  • Previous experience working with SAE ARP4761.
  • Experience interfacing directly with civil and/or military certification authorities is a significant advantage.
  • Previous experience with SAE ARP 4754A, RTCA/DO-178B/C, RTCA/DO-254, or MIL-STD-882 is preferred.
  • Practical experience in electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with automatic flight controls, software development, or MBSE/MBSA is a plus.
