Description

  • Own the tax product roadmap from discovery through delivery, spanning document intake, filed returns, and tax planning.
  • Lead transformational change while maintaining high-quality tax services.
  • Partner with engineering, design, data, and tax leadership through cross-functional agile pods.
  • Coordinate initiatives across Technology, Tax, Wealth Management, and Operations.
  • Manage relationships with external partners, including tax preparation software vendors.
  • Define the direction of AI agents, automation priorities, human oversight, and AI output evaluation processes.
  • Integrate tax capabilities into Mercer Advisors’ shared technology platform while protecting sensitive client data.
  • Define success metrics, analyze usage and feedback, improve the product, and communicate outcomes to executives.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product management experience with a record of measurable impact.
  • Experience using AI to solve real business problems.
  • Experience shipping products in accuracy- and compliance-sensitive domains.
  • Experience working in or leading cross-functional engineering, design, and data teams.
  • Ability to translate complex business processes into clear product requirements.
  • Familiarity with LLM evaluation and human-in-the-loop design.
  • Strong data fluency, including defining metrics, interpreting dashboards, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bias toward action, comfort with ambiguity, and experience leading change in a live operating business.
  • Fully remote availability during Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM standard business hours; strong preference for candidates near San Francisco, CA.

  • Base salary of $160,000–$190,000 USD plus eligibility for incentive compensation.
