Description

  • Uphold directorial and design fundamentals across AI-generated and tech-enabled content, including lighting, lens choice, color theory, editing, and character development.
  • Experiment with and integrate generative AI, real-time rendering, procedural generation, and AR/VR/XR technologies into studio workflows.
  • Proactively identify brand and product opportunities where emerging technology can be applied, without waiting for a formal brief.
  • Develop rapid prototypes and proofs of concept that demonstrate new visual treatments, content models, or creative approaches.
  • Serve as a strategic, client-facing partner to Google stakeholders and present complex technical workflows in business-relevant terms.
  • Conceptualize and execute ideas made possible by new technologies, beyond simple speed improvements.
  • Track the latest creative and technological developments and bring emerging tools and methods into the studio.
  • Act as a translator between creative teams and technical/development teams to align idea generation with technical architecture.
  • Share new workflows, train the broader studio team, and help raise collective capability.
  • Support measurable improvements in production efficiency, craft quality, and cross-team collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in high-end craft disciplines such as VFX, 3D animation, character development/animation, motion design, or live-action film directing.
  • Deep, demonstrable expertise in generative AI tools, real-time engines, and spatial computing technologies including VR, AR, and XR.
  • Strong understanding of the underlying mechanics of AI and immersive tools, not just prompting or surface-level usage.
  • A portfolio showing inventive work that combines tools, breaks conventions, or creates new workflows to achieve a creative vision.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with comfort leading discussions with senior clients.
  • Strong ability to pitch proactive prototypes and non-traditional executions to executive stakeholders.
  • Solid technical literacy and understanding of technical architecture and how platforms interact with creative pipelines.
  • Ability to work in a highly strategic, client-facing role and collaborate across creative and technical teams.
  • Experience in visual effects, animation, design, or film direction is central to the role.
  • Background in or familiarity with immersive environments and AI-first workflows is preferred.
