Description

  • Design, rig, and animate Milo across emotes, actions, celebrations, and seasonal moments.
  • Create and maintain a reusable animation library for learning, feedback, reward, and event contexts.
  • Illustrate and rig Milo outfit and accessory variations for gamification themes such as shop, expedition, and classroom.
  • Evolve Milo’s animation language to express emotional nuance, encouragement, and humour.
  • Animate and illustrate gamified features including Tug of War, Class Expedition, Shop interactions, and celebration sequences.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create microinteractions, animated icons, and responsive motion.
  • Help develop the Avatar Creator system for student personalisation with earned or purchased items.
  • Create supporting gamification assets such as shop accessories, themed backgrounds, and collectible items.
  • Contribute short animations, promotional illustrations, and social-ready assets for marketing and communications.
  • Build and manage Rive state machines for responsive, interactive motion.
  • Partner with developers to ensure seamless integration, performance optimisation, and scalable asset documentation.

Requirements

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating vector illustration and expressive 2D animation.
  • Advanced experience with Rive, including state machines, triggers, and interactivity.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator or equivalent vector design tools.
  • Solid understanding of character rigging, motion principles, and UI/UX animation.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers and developers to deliver scalable animation systems.
  • Experience designing for education, games, or youth-focused digital products is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Figma and After Effects for animation prototyping is desirable.
  • Understanding of visual storytelling, reward mechanics, and motivational feedback is desirable.
  • Passion for education, creativity, and making learning feel inspiring and approachable.
  • The role is not intended for static illustration work such as print textbook content.
