Description

  • Design, set up, configure, and manage Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL clusters.
  • Configure parameters, maintenance windows, monitoring, and scaling strategies for Aurora PostgreSQL environments.
  • Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and operational readiness of database platforms.
  • Map Oracle users, roles, and privileges to PostgreSQL and implement least-privilege access and role hierarchies.
  • Support security, audit, and compliance requirements for database environments.
  • Configure, run, monitor, and optimize AWS DMS tasks for full load and CDC replication.
  • Troubleshoot DMS latency, data mismatches, and performance issues, including high-throughput workloads.
  • Perform server and database performance tuning across CPU, memory, I/O, connections, indexing, autovacuum, and query behavior.
  • Design and implement backup, restore, disaster recovery, failover, cross-region replication, and recovery procedures.
  • Lead post-go-live stabilization, monitor production workloads, resolve incidents, and serve as the L3 escalation point for database issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience administering Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.
  • Proven experience supporting Oracle to PostgreSQL migrations.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS DMS.
  • Advanced PostgreSQL performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning in AWS.
  • Experience with AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Experience working in production and post-go-live environments.
  • Ability to work independently as an L3 escalation engineer.
  • Clear communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet (preferred).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation (preferred).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD implementation tools like Liquibase or Flyway (preferred).
  • AWS Certified Database – Specialty (preferred).
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (preferred).
