Description

  • Keep the books current every day in QuickBooks and Zoho Books by categorizing transactions, clearing bank feeds, and reconciling accounts.
  • Publish a daily cash position and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast across both entities and currencies.
  • Maintain clean ledger data with a consistent chart of accounts, vendor/customer naming, and entity- and business-unit tagging.
  • Run budget versus actual reporting for MDF and related programs, including tracking approvals, commitments, invoices, payments, claims, reimbursements, and deadlines.
  • Chase PO approvals, vendor invoices, and proof-of-performance documentation needed to support program claims.
  • Manage revenue collection by invoicing against SOW milestones, following up on outstanding receivables, and escalating collection risks early.
  • Bring accounting in-house from the current outsourced provider and establish a reliable process for daily operations.
  • Recognize revenue on fixed-fee SOWs and account for performance obligations and variable consideration.
  • Handle AWS partner economics, including marketplace disbursements, MAP claims, rebates, co-sell incentives, and sales compensation accruals.
  • Own the compliance calendar for India and the US, coordinate external reviewers, reconcile intercompany balances, and maintain transfer pricing support.
  • Prepare and initiate payments for founder review and approval.

Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (India) with at least 3 years of professional experience after articleship.
  • Full ownership of at least one close process from open items through signed-off financials.
  • Strong follow-through and the ability to complete daily accounting tasks without reminders.
  • Ability to chase internal teams and customers for documents and payments with low friction.
  • Experience with budget versus actual reporting against fixed program budgets, preferably in restricted-fund, grant, or project accounting.
  • Comfort working across two ledgers and two currencies while keeping them reconciled.
  • Judgment to work independently without a controller and escalate appropriately to founders or external advisors.
  • Availability to work 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm IST.
  • Clear written English for customer emails and communication with advisors and founders.
  • US CPA held or in progress is preferred, with sponsorship available for remaining exams and fees.
  • Experience running daily or weekly closes is preferred.
  • Experience building a rolling cash forecast is preferred.
  • Experience applying ASC 606 or Ind AS 115 to fixed-fee services revenue is preferred.
  • Experience in a US and India two-entity structure, including intercompany and transfer pricing, is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud partner program accounting for AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • Experience tracking restricted funds or grants with claim deadlines is preferred.
  • Experience automating part of a close using scripts or tools is preferred.
