Description

  • Build extraction pipelines from SAP HANA to AWS S3 using SLT, ODP, CDS views, SDI, and native HANA SQLScript.
  • Model raw SAP tables across FI/CO, MM, SD, and related modules into clean datasets for downstream use.
  • Design and operate delta and CDC patterns to keep incremental loads correct, idempotent, and replayable.
  • Write ABAP extractors when standard SAP tooling is insufficient and document them for safe future maintenance.
  • Own the write-back path by loading curated data from S3 into SAP BW or BW4HANA for reporting and analytics.
  • Land data in S3 as Parquet with appropriate partitioning, schemas, and IAM scoping.
  • Define the contract with the PySpark engineer at the ingestion-to-transformation boundary.
  • Embed with customer teams, ship pipelines to production, and support cutover to ensure they run successfully.
  • Serve as the SAP point of contact on customer calls and coordinate across teams and geographies.

Requirements

  • Deep SAP HANA extraction experience with SLT, ODP / operational data provisioning, CDS views, SDI, and HANA SQLScript.
  • Strong understanding of SAP table structures and business semantics in at least one functional area such as FI/CO, MM, or SD.
  • Experience designing incremental loads that handle reprocessing, late-arriving data, and source-side schema drift.
  • ABAP fluency sufficient to build custom extractors when standard SAP tooling cannot access the data.
  • Experience with SAP BW / BW4HANA data loading and modeling on the consumption side of the pipeline.
  • Working AWS knowledge, including S3 landing zones, Parquet, and basic IAM.
  • Strong written and spoken English for customer calls and cross-geography collaboration.
  • Preferred: Experience with AWS Glue Data Catalog or similar metadata layers over S3.
  • Preferred: Prior SAP-to-cloud data lake delivery experience with lessons learned from production implementations.
  • Preferred: Client-facing consulting or forward-deployed delivery experience.
  • Preferred: Comfort collaborating with a Spark-based transformation layer at the S3 boundary.
