Description

  • Lead strategic design initiatives and capabilities development across the Design organization.
  • Build and coach the Design Org’s leadership practice through mentorship and professional development.
  • Shape the Design practice’s adoption of AI by identifying opportunities, piloting approaches, and scaling successful workflows.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, program delivery, and business development partners on company growth and design strategy.
  • Manage up to eight direct reports across multiple projects.
  • Coach design team members through challenges, review and structure their work, and provide coverage when needed.
  • Guide teams in applying Nava’s cross-functional delivery model and human-centered system integration approach.
  • Contribute to decisions on strategic work to pursue.
  • Support business development through proposals, solutioning, reviews, tech challenges, and market research presentations.
  • Identify, develop, and scale new delivery capabilities in the Design Org.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as a human-centered design practitioner.
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience and team leadership.
  • Deep experience across the creative, strategic, technical, managerial, and operational aspects of human-centered design at scale.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity, develop strategy, and conduct long-term planning.
  • Experience building strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong communication skills across executive leadership, clients, peers, direct reports, and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated AI leadership in a design organization is preferred.
  • Experience managing business dynamics in a professional services firm is preferred.
  • Track record of introducing agile transformation and design management best practices with clients and stakeholders is preferred.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to meet government contract requirements and pass a government background check or security clearance if required.
  • Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must work from the contiguous United States.
