Description

  • Lead planning, design, construction, startup, rehabilitation, operation, and optimization of water and wastewater systems.
  • Serve as Project Manager, Technical Lead, Engineer of Record, or Principal-in-Charge for assigned projects.
  • Develop facility master plans, capital improvement recommendations, lifecycle evaluations, budgets, schedules, and implementation strategies.
  • Lead design-build, design-build-operate-maintain, retrofit, rehabilitation, and design-bid-build projects.
  • Direct treatment-process analysis, technology evaluations, chemical trials, equipment selection, and value engineering.
  • Prepare and review technical calculations, reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate work across civil, mechanical, electrical, controls, structural, architectural, environmental, and CADD disciplines.
  • Provide construction-phase technical oversight, including submittal reviews, RFIs, change evaluations, site observations, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, staffing, procurement, communications, and risk.
  • Maintain client, contractor, vendor, subcontractor, and internal team relationships; support contracts, amendments, scopes, fees, and financial management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • At least 20 years of progressive experience in water, wastewater, environmental, industrial, or public infrastructure.
  • Professional Engineer license in a U.S. jurisdiction, or ability to obtain one within six months.
  • Experience delivering municipal and industrial water and wastewater projects through planning, design, construction, startup, operations, and rehabilitation.
  • Experience evaluating industrial wastewater characterization, treatment, discharge, permitting, and water-reuse requirements.
  • Knowledge of treatment technologies including clarification, filtration, membranes, biological treatment, ion exchange, reverse osmosis, demineralization, and advanced reuse.
  • Experience with alternative delivery methods such as design-build, progressive design-build, construction manager at risk, or engineer-procure-construct.
  • Project-management experience across scope, schedule, budget, quality, staffing, communications, and risk.
  • Strong communication and technical-writing skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to work remotely, maintain a professional home office, coordinate across time zones, and travel overnight to client sites and offices as needed.
  • Participation in AWWA, WEF, or related state or regional organizations is desirable.
