Description

  • Conduct community asset mapping and listening to understand local strengths, priorities, relationships, and initiatives.
  • Engage stakeholders, build partnerships, and support cross-sector collaboration and community convenings.
  • Connect people, organizations, and resources across the community.
  • Support strategic planning, project coordination, research, and implementation of locally defined priorities.
  • Develop organizational tools, processes, resources, systems, and volunteer infrastructure.
  • Support training, workshops, outreach, and community engagement.
  • Advance initiatives related to youth, education, workforce development, career pathways, and economic mobility.
  • Strengthen connections among schools, nonprofits, employers, government, higher education, and other community partners.

Requirements

  • Host organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits, government entities, or faith-based organizations focused on non-religious activities.
  • Organizations must be place-based backbone organizations serving rural communities or regions.
  • Provide a designated supervisor for weekly one-on-one check-ins, day-to-day guidance, and project support.
  • Provide a dedicated workspace and necessary operational tools and equipment.
  • Develop a position description focused on organizational and community capacity-building for rural young people’s cradle-to-career economic mobility.
  • Actively use local networks to recruit candidates with strong lived experience in the community.
  • Provide a local financial match supporting member stipends, training, supervision, and national program infrastructure.
  • Commit to a 40-hour-per-week service term from December 2026 through August 2027.
