Description

  • Build and maintain both web and mobile versions of the platform.
  • Design and implement backend services, APIs, and database architecture focused on performance and scale.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize ETL/data pipelines that ingest and normalize messy external data sources.
  • Implement web scraping solutions including browser automation, API reverse-engineering, anti-bot handling, and rate limiting.
  • Integrate third-party tools and external data sources into the platform.
  • Translate UI designs into responsive, production-quality frontends, dashboards, and internal tools.
  • Handle deployment, automated testing, performance optimization, and monitoring in production environments.
  • Own end-to-end project delivery, prioritize work, and operate autonomously within a small-team startup context.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production systems in Python.
  • Strong SQL and database design skills, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling.
  • Proven ETL/data pipeline experience.
  • Web scraping expertise, including browser automation, API reverse-engineering, anti-bot strategies, and rate limiting.
  • Prior experience working in a small team or startup environment (under 20 people).
  • Self-initiative, goal-driven mindset, and a pragmatic approach balancing clean code with fast deliverables.
  • Willingness to learn new domains and change approach based on data.
  • E-commerce or marketplace data experience (Amazon, Keepa, SP-API) (preferred).
  • Frontend capability for dashboards, internal tools, and reports (preferred).
  • Experience with caching strategies, incremental data updates, API token budgeting, familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS/GCP), and a data validation/QA mindset (preferred).
