Description

  • Design and build internal tools that improve finance delivery, including AI-powered reporting, automated reconciliations, client dashboards, and operational workflows.
  • Prototype solutions quickly using modern AI and low-code/no-code tools, then move the best ideas into production.
  • Create and maintain a central data warehouse connected to client systems such as Xero, Shopify, Stripe, and other relevant sources.
  • Establish security procedures and access controls for client financial data, including access management, data handling, and incident response.
  • Implement data governance practices such as classification, retention, segmentation, and audit trails.
  • Partner with Henry and team leads to map processes, identify high-leverage opportunities, and embed technology into day-to-day work.
  • Train the team, create playbooks, and support adoption of new tools and workflows.
  • Own the technology roadmap, including build-versus-buy decisions and vendor relationships.

Requirements

  • Proven experience shipping real software with AI tools as a core part of the workflow, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Lovable.
  • Comfort building with low-code and no-code platforms such as Airtable, Zapier, n8n, or Make, and knowing when to move to real code.
  • Strong hands-on experience with APIs and integrations, ideally including Xero, Shopify, or payment processors.
  • Solid data engineering foundation, including building or maintaining a data warehouse, writing SQL on real business data, and modeling financial data cleanly.
  • Experience setting up security procedures, access controls, and data governance for sensitive data.
  • Ability to translate messy business and financial requirements into technical solutions and explain them clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder skills, with a focus on getting tools adopted rather than just shipped.
  • A builder’s mindset with a track record of shipping quickly and iterating.
  • Proven experience with Xero API integration.
  • Preferred: experience building tools for accounting, finance, or ecommerce operations.
  • Preferred: hands-on work with Claude or Anthropic APIs, agentic workflows, or AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Preferred: experience leading full tech stack audits or change programmes.
  • Preferred: experience designing internal tools that non-technical teammates actually use and enjoy.
  • Preferred: a portfolio of shipped side projects, prototypes, or micro-SaaS products.
