Description

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs in Go, prioritizing scalability, clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility.
  • Develop full-stack product features using Go, React, and TypeScript.
  • Lead complex, multi-team technical projects, including work involving external dependencies.
  • Define technical patterns, operational guidelines, and team practices while mentoring engineers.
  • Collaborate with product and design partners from discovery through delivery and contribute to technical and product roadmaps.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot production issues, and improve software reliability.
  • Communicate clearly through written and verbal updates, technical feedback, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Own projects end-to-end, from planning and deployment through ongoing maintenance and customer-focused iteration.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience designing, building, and maintaining backend systems, APIs, and services in Go or similar languages.
  • Professional experience delivering frontend features with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience planning and delivering complex projects across multiple teams or systems.
  • Ability to own technical work autonomously, proactively address technical debt, and debug issues across the stack.
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers, leading technical design reviews, and improving team quality.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and flexibility to adapt to changing customer or business needs.
  • Clear, thoughtful written and verbal communication skills, including giving and receiving feedback.
  • Experience supporting software in production and participating in on-call rotations.
  • Interest in observability, production engineering, and AI workloads.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, or Cursor is preferred.
  • Ability to work in Canada without visa sponsorship or transfer support.

  • Base salary of $250,000–$280,000 CAD, based on experience and level.
