Description

  • Support design and execution of analytic studies across all phases of research design for healthcare data projects.
  • Explore, evaluate, and validate a wide array of healthcare data (e.g., survey, claims, EHR, registry, eligibility, demographic, clinical, vital statistics).
  • Perform data validation, manipulate complex databases, and cross-reference datasets to ensure data quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct and interpret analyses, develop appropriate statistical models, and track patterns of care and outcomes.
  • Assist in developing and following analysis plans and analytic documentation.
  • Learn and apply efficient statistical programming (including SAS) and other analytic tools as needed for project work.
  • Present and communicate project results to non-analytic staff and external customers.
  • Participate in team training meetings and contribute as an integral member of the Data Science & Advanced Analytics division.
  • Represent HSAG professionally in internal and external interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., math, statistics, economics, epidemiology) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Coursework in statistics and other quantitative subjects.
  • Knowledge of statistical programming in at least one software language; ability and willingness to learn SAS programming.
  • Experience working with relational databases and manipulating complex datasets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present results to nonanalytic audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Experience with or exposure to healthcare data types (claims, EHR, surveys, registries) is preferred.
