Description

  • Identify potential project investors and buyers across the investment and banking communities and maintain regular updates on the company’s pipeline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with project sponsors, buyers, IPPs, tax equity investors, and project lenders.
  • Develop project finance models to forecast future liabilities and evaluate project economics.
  • Initiate and execute capital raise and project sale plans, including marketing materials, data room creation, and process management.
  • Work closely with developers as part of the project deal team to maximize project returns and net present value.
  • Flag critical financing issues to management and recommend solutions to address project risks.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to validate Capex and OPEX assumptions, including sales tax and property tax considerations.
  • Independently source, communicate with, and manage investor due diligence processes.
  • Negotiate and close complex financing and project sell-down transactions.
  • Develop targeted investor marketing programs and strategic partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in project finance, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  • At least 3 years of experience in solar and/or storage projects.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, developing, and managing relationships with project sponsors, buyers, IPPs, tax equity investors, and project lenders.
  • Strong knowledge of all phases of project finance for solar PV plants and BESS projects.
  • Basic understanding of key development concepts for risk analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel and the ability to build and update sophisticated financial models independently.
  • Experience working with project developers and understanding the RFP process.
  • Proven track record of independently sourcing investors, managing due diligence, negotiating, and closing complex financing and project sell-down transactions.
  • Ability to develop targeted investor marketing programs and customized investment products.
  • Strong long-term strategic perspective and action orientation.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work cross-culturally with senior leadership.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
