Description

  • Prospect new business through outbound lead generation, local associations, cattle auctions, and industry relationships.
  • Manage inbound leads promptly and balance administrative work with field activity.
  • Conduct in-field sales conversations with ranchers and prospects in person on farms, pastures, and at local gatherings.
  • Expand existing customer relationships and identify upsell and growth opportunities within the territory.
  • Own sales targets, qualify pipeline opportunities, and manage deals across near-term and future cycles.
  • Maintain close post-sale relationships to support customer satisfaction and resolve issues.
  • Lead smooth handoffs from sales to onboarding and deployment teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for collecting customer feedback and advocating for territory needs internally.
  • Collaborate with Product, Support, Customer Onboarding, and other cross-functional teams to address customer issues.
  • Represent Halter at industry events, demonstrations, and local, state, and federal stakeholder meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience managing a large territory with a balanced focus on sales and customer success, ideally in agriculture or technology.
  • Strong history of creating new business opportunities and negotiating value-based sales conversations.
  • Experience building long-term customer relationships and expanding accounts through upsell opportunities.
  • Ranching or cattle operations experience with an understanding of the industry’s challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, results-driven attitude.
  • Resourceful problem-solving ability and comfort collaborating across teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the territory, approximately 75%.
  • Preferred: familiarity with precision agriculture or virtual fencing technologies.
  • Preferred: background in customer-facing roles within agriculture technology.
  • Preferred: background in selling B2B SaaS software solutions.
