Description

  • Plan and oversee installation of sensing devices on electric poles in remote areas, ensuring adherence to timelines, specifications, safety standards, and local permits.
  • Coordinate and work closely with line crews, providing clear instructions, guidance, troubleshooting, and supervision during installations.
  • Act as a liaison between Gridware, utility companies, local authorities, and community members to facilitate communication and build positive relationships.
  • Conduct site assessments to verify readiness for installation and address technical challenges encountered during setup.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on-site and ensure installations meet safety and performance standards.
  • Use internal tools to maintain accurate records of installation activities, including site conditions, issues encountered, and corrective actions taken.
  • Manage contractor and crew activities in the field, providing direction and oversight to ensure safe, efficient work.
  • Support ongoing maintenance and field support tasks to sustain system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in field installation, technical support, or a related role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to provide clear direction and effectively oversee contractors and line crew personnel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams, crew members, and utility customers.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and adapt to dynamic, changing environments.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Willingness and availability to work 12-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, and to travel locally around the Amarillo area.
  • Must be available for training in Richmond, CA (4/20–4/24) prior to Amarillo assignments (work begins 4/27).
  • Preferred/bonus: knowledge of utility infrastructure and safety regulations; proficiency with GPS/GIS mapping tools or other outdoor mapping platforms; experience working with or as utility contractors, particularly pole inspection companies.
