Description

  • Lead and coach the UX Research & Design team, including performance feedback, career growth, hiring, onboarding, and team shaping.
  • Serve as the operations lead and help define how UX work is prioritized and staffed across products.
  • Design and refine lightweight UX processes such as intake, triage, research planning, design reviews, and documentation.
  • Clarify and improve collaboration between UX, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders across the full development lifecycle.
  • Set and uphold standards for UX quality, including usability, accessibility, consistency, and design rationale.
  • Partner on the evolution of design systems and shared UI components to support more centralized, reliable product updates.
  • Work with Product and Tech leaders to embed accessibility expectations into everyday software development practices.
  • Guide the team in thoughtful experimentation with AI-assisted tools for research, synthesis, content exploration, and design exploration.
  • Identify low-risk AI pilots, measure outcomes, and share learnings across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in UX Research & Design for complex software products, ideally in B2B/B2G or enterprise SaaS.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience, which may include direct people management, leading UX process changes, or partnering with other leaders to evolve UX in product development.
  • Strong practitioner background across both user research and design.
  • Experience planning and running user research and usability testing.
  • Experience translating insights into flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Experience collaborating closely with product and engineering teams during implementation.
  • Comfort using modern UX tools such as Figma and common research platforms like Lyssna or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and how to apply them in design and review practices.
  • Ability to prioritize UX work across multiple products and stakeholders, influence without formal authority, and communicate clearly with technical and executive audiences.
  • Preferred experience in government technology, payments, tax systems, or similarly regulated, high-complexity domains.
  • Preferred experience formalizing or maintaining a design system or shared component library.
  • Preferred experience with AI-assisted design or research workflows.

Benefits

  • Remote-friendly company with a fully remote UX team working across U.S. time zones.
  • Salary range of $110,000 to $170,000 per year.
  • Up to 10% travel for occasional team gatherings, company meetings, and client or project visits.
