Description

  • Manage legal, regulatory, and product matters related to mortgage and HELOC financial products.
  • Advise on debt collection, privacy, consumer credit compliance, lending, and solar financing issues.
  • Ensure products and business activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel, in-house attorneys, paralegals, and business units.
  • Provide proactive legal guidance and reasoned recommendations to internal clients.
  • Support matters involving mortgage and consumer credit products, including litigation, complaints, and regulatory examinations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by company leadership.

Requirements

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience advising mortgage lenders, financial institutions, or fintech companies on consumer credit and lending laws and regulations.
  • Strong legal judgment and ability to provide clear, reasoned recommendations.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-directed approach with strong business judgment and sense of urgency.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Confidence, honesty, fairness, and commitment to serving as a legal business partner.
  • Experience with mortgage/HELOC products, litigation, consumer complaints, and regulatory examinations preferred.

Benefits

  • Annual compensation of $150,000–$200,000.
