Description

  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for flooring, tile, cabinets, and countertops from blueprints, floor plans, elevations, finish schedules, and specifications.
  • Calculate material quantities in the correct units and apply waste factors, seams, cuts, and room transitions.
  • Quantify related items such as trim, transition strips, thresholds, countertop edge profiles, cutouts, and cabinet boxes.
  • Cross-reference finish schedules with architectural drawings and specifications to identify discrepancies or missing information.
  • Perform digital takeoffs in MeasureSquare 8 with quantities clearly labeled and traceable to source documents.
  • Enter takeoff quantities accurately into standardized Excel bid workbooks.
  • Update takeoff quantities as project documents change and generate RFIs for missing or conflicting information.
  • Organize and maintain digital plan files and takeoff records while managing multiple takeoffs to meet bid deadlines.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in quantity surveying, construction management, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in construction takeoffs, estimating, or quantity surveying.
  • Proficiency with MeasureSquare 8 and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, floor plans, elevations, and finish schedules.
  • Strong math and measurement skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills and fluent written and spoken English.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a suitable computer.
  • Availability to overlap at least 6 hours per day with U.S. business hours (Central Time).
  • Experience with other digital takeoff tools such as Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, or On-Screen Takeoff (preferred).
  • Familiarity with flooring and finish materials such as LVP/LVT, sheet vinyl, carpet, carpet tile, porcelain, ceramic tile, quartz, and granite (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GC bid portals such as BuildingConnected, PlanHub, or iSqFt (preferred).
