Description

  • Own the long-term architecture and strategy for the Integrations Platform across multiple quarters.
  • Define integration taxonomy, prioritization, risk tiering, and vendor partner relationships as an ongoing workstream.
  • Drive architectural direction for non-API integration patterns, including browser-driven flows, webhook-first designs, and iPaaS bridges.
  • Design the authoring framework that enables FDEs, contractors, and AI agents to extend the platform safely.
  • Build and improve integration testing infrastructure to replace ad hoc, per-integration fixtures.
  • Pair with engineers on hard design decisions before implementation and run design reviews as a teaching forum.
  • Share strategic and surge escalation responsibilities with the engineering manager and participate in the maintenance rotation.
  • Ground platform decisions in customer, analyst, and operational reality from support and escalation channels.
  • Frame staff-level projects so other engineers can own meaningful pieces and the team can move faster.
  • Coach the team through architecture, operability, and platform design best practices.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience building scalable, observable SaaS systems.
  • Track record of leading multi-quarter platform or integrations work across more than one product surface.
  • Demonstrated experience designing SDKs, authoring frameworks, or extensibility systems for other engineers or external authors.
  • Deep fluency in TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS primitives such as Lambda, SQS, and S3.
  • Experience with non-API integration patterns such as webhooks at scale and OAuth flows across many tenants.
  • Experience with at least one of browser-driven automation, iPaaS bridges such as Okta Workflows, Tines, or Workato, or callback-based designs.
  • Fluency with AI coding tools such as Cursor or Claude Code, or equivalent.
  • A teaching-oriented reviewer mindset rather than a gatekeeping approach.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to say when you do not know and how you would find out.
